The Library strives to protect our customer’s confidentiality in relation to items used in the Library or checked out, and to information sought through library systems or the Library’s reference services. We do not track or permanently record individual website visitor information.
The Library has partnered with selected third-party partners in order to provide certain services to its customers. Information submitted to the Library may be provided to those third parties on a confidential basis so that they can assist us in providing certain services, including online research database access, digital downloads and activities that require the processing of credit card transactions and donations.
The Library offers users the ability to pay their fines by accessing their library card account online. During the fine payment process, the user enters or reviews her/his name, address, email address, credit card number, expiration-date and card security number into the online form. The data in this form is encrypted before being sent to the processing vendor, PayPal, which conducts the financial transaction. NO credit card data is received or retained by the Library. The amount paid is automatically entered in the Library system and immediately credited to the user’s Library account.
Any questions in regards to patron privacy or confidentiality may be addressed by contacting the Director of Libraries.
